Safe Crowds Initiative (SCI) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing educational services and practical tools and methods to combat harassment and assault at events, venues and festivals. Our methodology includes a website based venue, event and festival safety rating program, an event sponsorship program. Our business model is centered around educating attendees and bystanders on how to prevent and report harassment and assault and then providing them with tools to educate themselves and others.
At SCI we understand that in an ever-evolving music scene, especially considering current events, safety is a critical and prominent issue to event attendees. The safety concerns involve everything from finding a lost friend, reporting harassing behavior or having access real time help in crisis. We believe that all people should have the ability to attend music events without fear and are working diligently to provide resources to address this important issue. The problem of event safety is shared by both the venues and the bystanders and we aim to address both groups through our programs.
